Dr. Marguerite M. Salam Host

A University of Pittsburgh medical school graduate, Dr. Salam Host did her residency in pathology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She is US boarded in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She did a year of pediatric pathology as a post-sophomore fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Salam Host also holds a Master’s degree in health administration.

She has worked for many entities including Clinical Laboratories and Pathology Associates of Northeast PA, Geisinger Medical Laboratories, Laboratory Corporation of America, Susquehanna Pathology and Laboratory Consultants, Valley Pathology Group, Trustbridge Medical Group in Shanghai, China, and is currently working for the Wyoming Valley Pathology Group. She has been an adjunct faculty member of the Commonwealth Medical College (now Geisinger Medical College) and has served as a visiting professor at Fudan University Cancer Hospital in Shanghai, China. Dr. Salam Host covers as a Laboratory and Medical consultant for commercial plasma centers.

Her special interests are cytopathology, dermatology, pediatric and neonatal pathology, and transfusion medicine. She currently serves as the Technical Specialist in the Blood Bank department. Outside of Pathology and Lab Medicine, Dr. Salam Host serves as chairman of the Hospital Education Committee at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
